Concreate Urban Art Festival in Kajaani 6–19 July

Previously held in the capital region, Concreate brought Finnish and international urban artists together to create a unique permanent work of art in the city.

The festival focused on Vesitorninmäki in Kajaani, where eight were painted on the ends of buildings. In addition, a total of three underpasses were painted nearby on Sotkamontie and Rinnekatu. 18 artists participated in the festival, six of whom came from Finland and the rest from different parts of the world. With Concreate, one of the most significant mural ensembles in Finland was created in Kajaani. Read more about the artists here.

Concreate is part of the Oulu2026 Capital of Culture year and the Kajaani 375 anniversary. In addition, the festival is supported by Kiinteistö Oy Kajaanin Pietari, the Embassy of Spain, the Finnish Swedish Cultural Foundation, The Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre, Montana Cans and Cramo.
