“Creating this piece was a very rewarding experience. Meticulous working on a scale as large as this takes time and gives space for one’s own thoughts. To me, drawing is meditative, and especially working with this particular line technique, I am fully present in the moment. Humans are complex entities, that are way too often determined by their appearance. I am interested in the real core that humans are often too afraid to show due to the fear of breaking norms or coming across as weird. This mural is a kind of a reminder to me that nothing in this world is what it first seems like, and in order to understand, it is necessary to get below the surface. Behind the smile, there is a unique world of its own. “
